Jeffery’s embrace Building Regulations new Document J in their ‘Living Flames’ showroom

Ensuring that your heating appliance selection and installation does not contravene the new Document J Building Regulations requirements will not cause a headache if you opt for a Jeffery’s ‘Living Flames’ solution.

The new regulations which came into force on October 1st 2010 require safe installation of appliances. The Jeffery’s installation team, as HETAS registered professionals, are obliged to ensure the chimney lining/flue to which the appliance is connected are both suitable for the application and in good working order.

A new requirement from Document J is for a Carbon Monoxide alarm to be fitted whenever a new or replacement fixed solid fuel appliance is installed in a dwelling. Jeffery’s both supply and install these alarms, only offering quality products which comply with the regulations and following the installation guidance of BS EN 50292:2002.

Des Shrubb, Showroom Manager at Jeffery’s ‘Living Flames’ commented: ‘we welcome the extra safety precautions delivered with Document J. When dealing with heating appliances and the fuels to power them, our experience has shown that quality in both product selection and installation offers peace of mind, maximises efficiency and, in the long run provides value for money’.
